Mar 18, 2008 --
For immediate release: Please announce the following not-for-profit event: The 15th Judicial Circuit CASA welcomes Higginsville residents to CASA ranks serving child victims of abuse/neglect.

On March 18th, 2008, the 15th Judicial Circuit CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates)
graduated Higginsville residents as volunteers. CASA volunteers serve as the voice for child victims of abuse/neglect in court. They help ensure children receive necessary services while in foster care to as to heal from their abuse/neglect.
Left to right: Tricia Russell, CASA Vol., Meredith Wallpe, Volunteer Coordinator, Diane Reid, CASA vol., The Honorable Dennis Rolf, Barbara Beck, CASA vol., Robin McGinnity Connelly, Executive Director, Ruth Dierking, CASA vol., Leo Grothaus, Volunteer Coordinator Margaret Soendker, CASA volunteer.
These new CASA volunteers hail from Higginsville, and hope to help children in Lafayette County find safe, more stable homes as soon as possible.
There are nearly 100 children who are wards of the court in the 15th Judicial Circuit. CASA currently is committed to helping 65 children of those foster children. Our goal is to recruit 20 more volunteers to help serve the 35 children who don’t have a “voice in court”.
Private CASA training now available. Next group training starts June 2, M-W-F from noon to 3 p.m. in Concordia, MO. For more information, please call 660.259.4236 or visit www.15judicialcasa.citymax.com
